Fund Raising Revved Up

Thunder Roads Magazine (Louisiana) is joining us for our Second Annual Houma Pyrate Day as a Fund Raising Sponsor. As it happens, Ms. Renee who runs the Louisiana chapter o’ this National Magazine is originally from Houma and maintains close ties to her Bayou Community!

Thunder-Roads-Magazine-SaveTheWetlandsThunder Roads in partnership with Street Survivors (a Louisiana 501c3 dedicated to fund raising efforts) are very Community minded – raising funds for local causes in and around Louisiana, so joining Pyrates to help out Keep Terrebonne Beautiful wasn’t much of a stretch! Thunder Roads Magazine is distributed to Motorcycle enthusiasts across the nation – and one thing these folks love to do is, RIDE. To that end, Ms. Renee has organized a Poker Run stopping at a lucky 7 locations before arriving at the Downtown Marina to join the celebrations.

For the uninitiated, a Poker Run involves a large group of Motorcycle enthusiasts who gather together and ride to 5 to 7 stops and draw for poker chips. At the end of the ride they “play” their final hand – best hand or worst hand will get a cash prize! Ye do not need to have a motorcycle to participate, and you can draw your whole 7 card hand at the event in Houma if you would rather not make the ride to the other six stops – however most riders go to all 7 stops to enjoy the ride!

Thunder Roads & Street Survivors will have a large space at Houma Pyrate Day and are donating funds from T-Shirt sales and Registrations to Keep Terrebonne Beautiful.
