There Will Be Rum!

About a week ago we received a very nice invitation from Carla at Mojito’s Rum Bar & Grill – a place that features at least two of our favourite things (Rum & anything Grilled).

Located at the pointy end o’ The Marigny Triangle (Esplanade Ave. at Frenchmen St.), they come highly recommended as having fabulous food & drink and personalities to match! The menu features something for every meal from breakfast (open at 08:30am) through dinner and even “Jazz Brunch” on Sundays…a flavourful Caribbean/Creole mix!

Unable to resist any longer I visited the other day & met the charming owners and staff…the food is flaming BRILLIANT! I had a nicely spiced cup o’ Seafood Gumbo made with chunks o’ fish in it and Crispy Fried Conch Fritters that not only lived up to the name, but were accompanied by a homemade Chutney that was – to mangle the vernacular – “off the anchor!” Compliments to Chef Sunny Cree!

Did I mention RUM? Obviously a place called Mojitos must serve a few – in fact they serve eight custom Mojito’s…but here’s even better news, they have…wait for it…over THIRTY kinds o’ RUM! It’s a Pyrate paradise…add to that the beautiful courtyard full o’ green plants and sunshine and the fact they have nightly live music and ye have a great spot to enjoy a drink, a meal and the company o’ good mates!
