Trim The Sails

It’s Carnival season in the south which means it’s Mardi Gras – and then it’s…

NOLA Pyrate Week! THE annual Pyratical celebration o’ New Orleans & Louisiana history, culture, food & entertainment – combined with volunteering, raising funds & awareness with local organizations restoring wetlands, rebuilding homes and building communities.

We wanted to do something extra special this year, so we are honouring the roots o’ Louisiana and heading “Back To The Bayou” – stay tuned for the announcement o’ a very special adventure!

Now in our 5th consecutive year, NOLA Pyrate Week (Mar. 29 – Apr. 7) brings Pyrates & landlubbers alike from around the country and the world together for 10 days o’ adventure & camaraderie – visiting neighbourhoods & historical locations around New Orleans and down into the Bayous of S. Louisiana.

Local artisans may present their wares at a merchants market, gatherings at historic Pirates Alley Café*, parades, day trips to historical/cultural locations, wetland cleanup, replanting, rebuilding, educational adventures and more are all part o’ this unique gathering.

We have supported organizations as diverse as lowernine.org, The Green Project, NOLa Rising, Gulf Restoration Network, Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program, Goodchildren SAPC and others. In addition, we always support/promote artists, musicians, chefs, writers, pubs, restaurants, historic locations…and everything related to history & culture!
Pyratical Second Line

“Take what ye can, GIVE something back!”

* This year marks the 5th Anniversary o’ NOLA Pyrate Week, and the TENTH Anniversary o’ our favourite place to congregate – Pirates Alley Café & Absinthe House! Join us and our hosts, Thais Solano & Tony Seville – for a special celebration; Saturday March 30, starting at 10pm.
