Draw A Bead On It…
Well, not drawing so much as sorting, wrapping, bagging…RECYCLING beads and throws form Mardi Gras and assorted other parades throughout the area!
Join us if yer able, Tues. 3 April (10:00am – 1:00pm) Volunteer Bead Sorting at ARC-GNO!
This is a great organization that we ‘met’ many years ago – purchasing crawfish sacks full o’ recycled beads for our parade. We gather now to assist them in the monumental recycling task o’ sorting, wrapping & packaging beads and other throws collected from around the city! Aside from their years o’ work recycling Mardi Gras throws, ARC of Greater New Orleans serves more than 1000 children and adults with intellectual and developmental challenges in Jefferson, Orleans, St. Bernard, Plaquemines and St. Tammany parishes. ARC provides various services throughout the entire community including Family Service Coordination, Respite, Personal Care, Employment Services, Day-Habilitation and Supported Living Assistance. We are honored to be joining them to give back what we’re able! ARC is located at 925 Labarre Road Metairie, LA – if ye wish to join us, ye must have yer own transportation to/from the location.
Please fill in and submit this form so we have an idea who’s attending!
